A warm and sunny fall day welcomed a large turn out of volunteers to Out to Pasture on Saturday October 22nd. Some of us hauled dog houses, recycled feed bags, put chicken wire on rooster fences, shoveled manure, scrubbed water dishes, removed toxic plants and put fresh straw in stalls and enclosures. Other volunteers cleared blackberry bushes and brush out of the drainage ditch at the back of the property to get ready for the winter rain. (Ouch! Those blackberry bushes can be hard on bare arms!) Posts were put in the ground to build a new chicken pen for the abandoned chicks found in a box at Sweetpea Bakery several weeks ago. We feasted on vegan snacks and enjoyed working together to make Out to Pasture a nicer home for our animal friends. Thank you everyone!
